American Hospital was founded in 1920 by US Navy Admiral L. Bristol as the first non-profit private hospital in Turkey and has a long-standing and reputable history ever since.
American Hospital combines 97 years of accumulated knowledge and experience with the latest technology to provide quality-focused health services in all medical and surgical disciplines with 241 beds, 41 intensive care beds and 12 operating rooms.
In addition to 15,000 inpatients each year, hospital treat more than 130,000 patients yearly in the outpatient-setting, one fifth being international patients from all over the world. More than 9,000 operations performed each year covering the entire surgical spectrum.
American Hospital is the first hospital among all public and private hospitals in Turkey to simultaneously hold the Joint Commission International, ISO 9001: Certificate of Quality, ISO 14001: Environmental Management System and IS0 27001: Information Security Management System certificates. In July 2018, Joint Commission International reaccredited American Hospital for the 6th time. As an international independent authority in brand management and marketing fields, Superbrands awarded American Hospital in 2015 as one the Superbrands of Turkey.
